This map shows the depot as it existed c. 1996. At its greatest extent, during World War 2, it also encompassed the Homebush Brickworks on its eastern boundary and extended further to the south beyond the M4 Motorway.
The present Armory includes all areas to the north of an eastwards prolongation of Holker Street (the road bordering Silverwater Prison on its southern side). The former US Navy magazine was located in Zone 1 ("The Little Bull Ring") and Zone 2 ("Bull Ring"). The Little Bull Ring was named "The Banana" in some later heritage studies.
